The Australian Rural Leadership Foundation (ARLF) in partnership with the Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal (FRRR), is seeking five exceptional individuals from each of 12 selected regions to become the foundational leaders of the Impact Leadership Program.
This is more than a leadership program, it is an invitation to join an emergent, adaptive movement designed to build social resilience and support change making across regional, rural, and remote Australia. As one of the First Five in your region, you will not only develop your own capacity but will and be equipped to facilitate and lead regional programs your entire community.

Fully Funded Scholarship
Each place on the program is valued at over $12,000. This is fully funded and covers your immersive learning, travel and expert coaching.
National Connection
Your journey begins at the National Impact Forum in June 2026, where you will connect with 60 like-minded peers from across the country.
Real-World Application
You won't just learn abstract theory or hear other people's stories. This program is built on the ARLF's three decades of developing leaders through experiential learning. Equally you will be able to apply it by tailoring and delivering leadership programs directly in your region.
Professional Coaching
Engage in sessions of individual and group coaching from expert ARLF facilitators. The ARLF is recognized nationally for developing leaders who deliver significant results across a range of sectors in rural, regional and remote Australia.
Lasting Legacy
You will play a central role in strengthening the social infrastructure and networks your community needs to thrive through future droughts and challenges.

Your Role in the Impact Leadership Program
As part of the First Five you are the catalyst for a ripple effect in your region. Your commitment includes:

Learning & Immersing: Participate in 15 days of learning and development; some in-person and some online. Attend the National Impact Forum with other rural leaders, to focuson systems leadership, human-centered design and facilitation.

Facilitating Change: Use your new skills to help deliver a local Networked Leadership Program for people in your community.

Hosting Conversations: Co-host forums that spark genuine collaborative action.

Building Capability: Act as a connector who can bridge different sectors and help your region have better conversations, even when topics are tense or difficult.
Is This You?

Are you a connector with trusted, embedded relationships on the ground?

Are you comfortable (or willing to grow) in facilitating small groups and community discussions?
